Job Description

Banqueting Servers and Setup Crew are responsible for preparing, setting, serving, and clearing private functions, events, and special occasions within an exclusive luxury destination.

The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, physical energy, and a polished approach to ensure that every event is delivered smoothly and to the highest standards of presentation, service, cleanliness, and guest care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and setup of function and event spaces according to approved layouts and instructions.
  • Arrange tables, chairs, linens, tableware, glassware, service equipment, décor, and other event requirements.
  • Ensure all event areas are clean, organized, presentable, and ready before guests arrive.
  • Support the safe movement and placement of furniture, equipment, supplies, and event materials.
  • Welcome and assist guests in a courteous, professional, and discreet manner.
  • Serve food and beverages according to established service standards and event requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of guest needs and respond promptly to requests.
  • Replenish food, beverages, tableware, and service items as required.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and personal presentation throughout each event.
  • Clear tables, remove used items, and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of event areas during service.
  • Follow correct handling procedures for food, beverages, glassware, equipment, and service items.
  • Assist with buffet, plated, reception, conference, private dining, and other event-service formats as required.
  • Coordinate with the Banqueting, Food and Beverage, Kitchen, Housekeeping, Recreation, Engineering, Security, and other teams.
  • Communicate guest requests, service issues, spills, breakages, hazards, or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with the safe and efficient breakdown of event spaces after functions.
  • Return furniture, equipment, service items, and supplies to their designated locations.
  • Support inventory checks and report missing, damaged, or defective items.
  • Follow all organizational policies, health and safety procedures, food-safety standards, and event instructions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding guests, private functions, and organizational activities.
  • Attend briefings, training sessions, rehearsals, and event-preparation meetings.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Previous experience in banqueting, events, food and beverage service, catering, private functions, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience within a luxury, premium, private, corporate, lifestyle, or high-end environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage service, table setup, event operations, and service etiquette.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, layouts, schedules, and service standards accurately.
  • Physically fit and able to stand, walk, lift, and move equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and event-based schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of hygiene and workplace-safety procedures.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
