Job Description

The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, organizing, safeguarding, and issuing supplies, materials, equipment, and consumable items across an exclusive luxury destination.

The role ensures that all stock is properly recorded, stored, maintained, and made available to departments in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining high standards of accuracy, security, cleanliness, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries and verify quantities, quality, condition, specifications, and supporting documentation.
  • Inspect incoming goods and report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or incorrect items.
  • Store supplies, materials, equipment, and consumables in the appropriate locations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, secure, and well-labeled storage areas.
  • Issue approved items to Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Recreation, Engineering, Security, Finance, and other departments.
  • Ensure all stock movements are supported by authorized requisitions or documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using stock-control systems, spreadsheets, or approved workplace software.
  • Apply appropriate stock rotation methods, including FIFO and FEFO where applicable.
  • Monitor stock levels and notify the relevant manager of low stock, excess stock, damaged items, expired products, or unusual usage.
  • Conduct regular stock counts and participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory checks.
  • Investigate and report inventory variances to the Finance or Stores Manager.
  • Safeguard company property, supplies, tools, equipment, and valuable items.
  • Ensure temperature-sensitive, fragile, hazardous, and controlled items are stored according to applicable requirements.
  • Maintain records of deliveries, issues, returns, transfers, damaged items, and stock adjustments.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Procurement regarding purchase orders, invoices, deliveries, and supplier concerns.
  • Support the preparation of inventory reports and stock forecasts.
  • Assist with arranging, labeling, packing, transferring, and dispatching items when required.
  • Ensure proper handling, lifting, storage, and disposal procedures are followed.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding stock levels, purchases, suppliers, and organizational operations.
  • Report safety hazards, security concerns, pest activity, equipment damage, or storage issues promptly.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Previous experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Assistant, Warehouse Assistant, or in a similar role.
  • Experience within a luxury, premium, private, corporate, lifestyle, or high-end environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of stock control, receiving procedures, inventory management, and storage practices.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or stock-management systems.
  • Good numerical, organizational, and record-keeping abilities.
  • Ability to inspect goods and identify discrepancies or damage.
  • Knowledge of safe storage, manual handling, hygiene, and workplace-safety practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and public holidays when required.
  • A relevant qualification in Stores, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage.
