Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, functionality, safety, and presentation of all facilities, infrastructure, equipment, and operational areas within an exclusive luxury destination.

The role leads the maintenance team, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinates contractors, supports departmental requirements, and ensures that all systems and facilities operate efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance and engineering team.
  • Develop and implement preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, water, lighting, fire-safety, security, and building systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, service areas, public areas, offices, and operational spaces.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns, emergencies, and operational concerns.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage maintenance inventories, tools, spare parts, materials, and equipment.
  • Coordinate with Security, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Recreation, Finance, and other departments to support smooth daily operations.
  • Liaise with approved contractors, consultants, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Obtain quotations, review technical proposals, and support purchasing and budget-control processes.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed according to approved specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, fire, building, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support inspections, audits, risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and business-continuity planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, reliability, and operational performance.
  • Assist with capital projects, renovations, installations, and improvement works.
  • Ensure all maintenance staff follow organizational policies, safe-working practices, and professional standards.
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to improve technical performance and service delivery.
  • Prepare regular maintenance reports, budgets, forecasts, and operational updates for management.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding organizational operations, facilities, systems, and security-sensitive information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or technical qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar leadership role.
  • Experience within a luxury, premium, private, corporate, residential, lifestyle, or high-end operational environment is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, MEP services, preventive maintenance, health and safety, and contractor management.
  • Experience managing maintenance teams, budgets, suppliers, and service agreements.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance-management systems and Microsoft Office or comparable workplace systems.
  • Relevant technical licenses, certifications, or professional memberships are an advantage.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to urgent maintenance matters when required.
