Job Description

The Fire Alarm Control Panel Operator is responsible for the continuous monitoring and operation of the hotel’s fire alarm and life safety systems to ensure the safety of guests, employees, and property. The role ensures full compliance with hotel brand standards and UAE / Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) regulations and supports effective emergency response at all times.

  • Continuously monitor the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) and associated life safety systems including LPG, fire pumps, smoke management panels, and back-up generator monitoring systems.

  • Respond promptly to fire, supervisory, and trouble alarms in accordance with approved procedures.

  • Identify alarm zones and devices and coordinate with the Emergency Response Team (ERT) to investigate activations.

  • Operate FACP systems strictly as per hotel SOPs and DCD guidelines.

  • Coordinate with Security, Engineering, and external service providers during incidents.

  • Manage 24/7 communication and call response with Dubai Civil Defence during fire alarm activations.

  • Conduct inspections of smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, and related devices following activations, as authorized by management.

  • Perform routine visual inspections of fire alarm panels and associated equipment.

  • Report system faults, damages, or abnormalities promptly and follow up with the fire alarm AMC/service provider.

  • Follow hotel emergency and evacuation procedures during fire or life safety incidents.

  • Assist in coordinating evacuations when required.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Security, Engineering, Management, and DCD during emergencies.

  • Support Dubai Civil Defence during inspections and emergency responses.

  • Maintain accurate records of alarm activations, faults, corrective actions, and system resets.

  • Complete incident reports and logbooks in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure compliance with hotel SOPs and Dubai Civil Defence regulations.

  • Support scheduled testing, fire drills, and third-party inspections.

  • Shift-based role including night shifts, weekends, and public holidays as per hotel operations.

  • Combination of control room duties and on-site field work within hotel premises related to fire and life safety systems.

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • High school education or equivalent; Fire & Life Safety technical/vocational training preferred

  • Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) Fire Alarm Operator certification or willingness to obtain

  • First Aid and Firefighting certification preferred

  • 2–3 years’ experience operating Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), ideally in a hotel or large commercial environment

  • Hands-on experience with fire and life safety systems (detectors, MCPs, fire pumps, LPG, smoke management)

  • Working knowledge of UAE Fire & Life Safety Code and DCD regulations

  • Experience in 24/7 control room operations is an advantage

  • Familiarity with hotel emergency response and evacuation procedures

  • Strong ability to identify and respond to fire, supervisory, and trouble alarms

  • Basic skills in inspection, troubleshooting, reporting, and maintaining logbooks

  • High level of alertness, attention to detail, and calm decision-making under pressure

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination with internal teams and external authorities

  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

  • Physically fit for on-site inspections and basic fieldwork

  • Basic computer literacy for monitoring systems and report preparation

  • Ability to respond promptly to Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) calls, inspections, and emergencies
