The Commis I supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, assisting with food production, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality. This role requires basic culinary skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment.
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to standard recipes and instructions
Carry out basic cooking tasks under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and organized at all times
Follow hotel standards for food quality, portion control, and presentation
Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies
Minimize food waste and report spoilage or shortages
Support the kitchen during service periods as required
Minimum 2 years of experience in a western kitchen environment
Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and during peak service hours
Willingness to learn and take direction
Good time management and organizational skills
