Job Description

 

The Duty Manager at Hotel Local – Autograph Collection is responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations during assigned shifts, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. The role acts as the senior management representative on duty, coordinating across departments to maintain service excellence, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

  • Oversee daily hotel operations during assigned shifts as the senior management representative on duty

  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences in line with Marriott International and Autograph Collection brand standards

  • Act as the primary point of contact for guest feedback, complaints, and service recovery

  • Supervise front office, guest services, concierge, and housekeeping coordination during the shift

  • Monitor arrivals, departures, VIP guests, group movements, and special events

  • Lead, guide, and support team members on shift, ensuring service standards, grooming, and policies are followed

  • Provide on-the-job coaching and handle staffing or operational issues in the absence of senior management

  • Oversee cash handling, billing accuracy, and coordination with night audit where applicable

  • Prepare shift handover reports, incident logs, and follow-up action plans

  • Act as the emergency response lead, managing safety, security, and guest incidents

  • Conduct routine property inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness

  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, local regulations, and Marriott International standards

  • Support quality audits, guest satisfaction scores, and brand compliance initiatives

  • Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

Desired Skill & Expertise

  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in hotel operations, preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel

  • Prior supervisory or duty management experience preferred

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Guest-focused mindset with attention to detail and service recovery skills

  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

  • Familiarity with Marriott systems such as MARSHA
