Job Description

Job Summary:

The Commis III – Pastry is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries and desserts under the guidance of senior chefs. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about baking and eager to learn in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts.

  • Follow standard recipes and presentation specifications as directed by the Chef de Partie – Pastry.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry workstation.

  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.

  • Support in receiving and storing pastry supplies and ingredients.

  • Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.

  • Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.

  • Take part in training sessions and development programs as required.

Desired Skill & Expertise

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry preferred.

  • Previous experience in a pastry kitchen or bakery is an advantage.

  • Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients.

  • Passion for pastry and keen willingness to learn and grow.

  • Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions.

  • Good hygiene and grooming standards.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Basic communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
