The Stewarding Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team during assigned shifts, ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of all kitchen and service areas. This includes supervising dishwashing operations, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean, well-maintained, and readily available to support the culinary and service teams.
Lead and guide the stewarding team in performing daily cleaning and dishwashing tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and dishware are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
Maintain cleanliness of back-of-house areas including kitchen floors, walls, waste disposal areas, and storage rooms.
Monitor the proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and chemicals, following safety procedures at all times.
Check all cleaning schedules and ensure assigned tasks are completed to standard.
Coordinate with the culinary and service teams to provide necessary support during service periods and events.
Report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the Stewarding Supervisor or Engineering team.
Assist in the training and orientation of new stewarding staff on hygiene, safety, and standard operating procedures.
Ensure waste is segregated and disposed of according to hotel and environmental policies.
Promote a culture of cleanliness, teamwork, and respect within the stewarding team.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience in stewarding, preferably in a hotel or large food service operation.
Good understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards (HACCP knowledge is a plus).
Ability to lead a team and delegate tasks effectively.
Good physical condition and ability to perform physically demanding duties.
Basic understanding of English (verbal and written).
Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
