The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising the stewarding team and ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen and food & beverage back-of-house areas. This includes overseeing dishwashing operations, maintaining sanitation standards, managing waste disposal, and ensuring compliance with hotel and health regulations. The role also involves supporting kitchen and banquet teams by ensuring the availability of clean equipment and supplies.
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team to ensure cleanliness and efficiency.
Ensure the proper cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, pans, and service ware.
Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing areas, kitchen back-of-house, and waste disposal zones.
Monitor stewarding schedules and delegate duties to ensure full coverage and timely task completion.
Support the implementation and monitoring of hygiene and sanitation procedures in compliance with HACCP and local regulations.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Maintain inventory and requisition cleaning supplies and stewarding materials as needed.
Conduct regular inspections and ensure all equipment is in working condition; report any maintenance issues promptly.
Assist in training and mentoring stewarding staff to uphold hotel standards.
Collaborate with the kitchen and banquet teams to ensure efficient support during events and service periods.
Previous experience in stewarding, preferably in a supervisory role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP or equivalent).
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team.
Physical stamina to perform duties that involve standing, lifting, and operating heavy equipment.
Basic computer literacy for inventory and scheduling systems.
Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
