The Electrical Team Leader is responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical maintenance and repair work across the property, ensuring that electrical systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards. The role involves hands-on technical work, team supervision, and close coordination with other departments to support seamless property operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring minimal disruption to hotel services and providing a safe environment for guests, staff, and contractors.
Supervise and guide a team of electricians and technicians in the maintenance and repair of all electrical systems.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical panels, distribution boards, lighting, power sockets, and control systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults and coordinate prompt repairs.
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety regulations, and internal SOPs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and repair logs.
Monitor energy usage and assist in implementing energy-saving measures.
Coordinate with other trades (e.g., HVAC, plumbing) to resolve cross-functional maintenance issues.
Support electrical work related to renovations, installations, and project upgrades.
Provide technical training and support to junior staff to enhance their skills.
Enforce safety procedures and use of PPE during all electrical work.
Assist the Engineering Manager in preparing maintenance reports and inventory requests.
Respond to emergency maintenance calls and ensure timely resolution of electrical issues.
Education & Qualifications:
Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Valid electrical license as per local regulations (if applicable).
Additional certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferably in the hospitality or real estate sector.
At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including LV distribution, lighting, backup power (generators/UPS), and control systems.
Proficient in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
Familiar with BMS and CMMS systems.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergencies.
